Each mission tells you the rewards, risks, and other attributes that are needed to complete the mission. Some missions are made of multiple parts, which also adds a basic level of resource management. Most of the game takes place on a map of Berlin where you can choose which mission you want to undertake. However, the process is fairly complex in nature. Build your band of resistance fighters, select a mission, and assign the best people for the job and hope not to be spotted or captured. The premise of the game is pretty simple. This small band of fighters can only survive on the goodwill of supporters, and as the leader, you have the unenviable task of planning missions and help the growth of the resistance without compromising the safety of you or your fellow fighters. These resistance fighters want to highlight and spread the word about the evil behind the new Chancellor of Germany, Adolf Hitler. The game takes place between 19 and sees you take control of a ragtag group of like-minded people of varying political and religious beliefs. That’ all changed now thanks to a charming (feels odd to use that word) strategy game from Paintbucket Games. Very rarely have we had a game whose viewpoint is based on the real people and what they think. In the video gaming world, we have had our fair share of games set during World War II but they have pretty much all focused on the perspective of the soldiers and the view down their iron sights. But in that process, it has also showed us the best in people and how we as a race will always stand against tyranny and that’s just what The Darkest of Times focuses on. World War II has without doubt showed the worst of humanity. Historical accuracy means that your small group of resistance fighters will not change the outcome of the war, nor will you prevent all of the Nazi’s atrocities, but you can certainly do everything in your power to save as many lives as you can and oppose the fascist system wherever possible. The Darkest of Times provides a different perspective to World War 2 presented in a stylised strategy game. Through the Darkest of Times is a historical resistance strategy game, focusing on conveying the somber mood of the period and the very real struggles of average people living in the 3rd Reich. And all of that while staying undercover – if the regime’s forces learn about your group, the life of each member is in grave danger. Your goal is to deal with small blows to the regime – dropping leaflets to spread awareness about what the Nazis are really up to among the people, painting messages on walls, sabotaging, gathering information and recruiting more followers. You are the leader of a small resistance group in 1933’s Berlin, of ordinary people, from Jews to Catholics and Communists to Patriots who simply can’t stand aside. Of course as always with game ratings, although the game has been rated for Stadia, it does not mean the game will definitely release on the platform. The game launched on PC back in January 2020 and has very positive reviews on Steam. The game, which sees you lead a small resistance group in 1933's Berlin, is developed by Paintbucket Games and published by HandyGames, the latter we know is a big supporter of Stadia. Through The Darkest of Times, a historical resistance strategy title has been rated for Stadia by PEGI. It has now been confirmed that Through The Darkest of Times will arrive on Google Stadia on June 1st 2022. Through The Darkest of Times Has Been Rated For Stadia - Updated!
